Aims of the work of KOK

KOK advocates human rights-based policies to combat trafficking in human beings that place a central emphasis on the legal rights of those affected.

  • Improving the lives of trafficked persons
  • Preventing exploitation by changing the legal and structural framework
  • Supporting and promoting specialisedcounselling centres


Areas of expertise

  • Networking at national and international level with specialised counselling centres and other NGOs
  • Training courses, e.g. for authorities (including the German Federal Criminal Police Office, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees and the German Federal Criminal Police Office), professionals and the civil society
  • Raising public awareness on trafficking in human beings and violence against female migrants
  • Advocacy work
  • Monitoring and following-up on the implementation of the UN or Council of Europe conventions
  • Statements and publications on trafficking in human beings and exploitation
  • Collecting and analysing data regarding clients using advisory services
  • Producing analyses of relevant court judgements in its case law database
